January Meeting

We are planning to start the new year out right with a seminar/workshop on tools and sharpening.  First off, a review of the Record Power Tool Set which was posted below in October.  The set comes with a DVD on the Foundation Skills of Woodcarving and we plan to show a portion of that as well.  Here is a preview of what that will be: Record Power Tools

Review of Record Power Carving Tools

Carve a Pumpkin Kendama Toy Ball

Fixings for a modified Kendama toy will be available for a couple of dollars at the September meeting of the South Dakota Woodcarvers, Inc.  Carving and painting the rough turned ball to resemble a pumpkin  or jack 'o lantern will be an easy task, but once the toy is assembled,

preforming the tricks might best be left to the kids or grand kids.
